The Saraswati Pujo has been the signature event of Baybasi for the past 8 years. It is the platform bringing together friends from the bayarea to meet and greet each other on this auspicious occasion. The one day event marks the begining with Maa Saraswati's pujo with full rites and rituals. The pujo is followed by 'hathe khodi' (writing ceremony) for kids, prasad and lunch. The day does not break here as no bengali festival is complete without "adda". In preparation for the most awaited extravaganza people take a break in the afternoon to get theri best dressses on and rehearse their performances.

The cultural evening caters to the necessity of a platform for kids and adults alike, to shed their inhibitions of public performance and stage fright. The Saraswati Pujo has seen an ever expanding participation from kids, and adults. So much so that over the years the cultural function has become from an hour's event to much above a couple of hours of jammed performances. The dances, recitations, songs, and the play performed by baybasi group is an event everyone awaits for months.

Be a part of our next Saraswati Pujo in 2010.
